Bloomsburg Tennis Split at Queens College; Women get 12th Win of the Season
BLOOMSBURG--The Bloomsburg University women's tennis won its 12th match of the season with a 6-3 win over Queens College on Saturday, while the men fell to the Knights, 9-0.
On the women's side, the Huskies started out the match winning two out of three doubles matches. At second doubles Lindsey Wyckoff (North Canton, OH/Hoover) and Emily Murphy (Montgomery/ Methacton) cruised to an 8-2 win, while at the third doubles, Lauren Colfer (Philadelphia/St. Basil's Academy) and Tracy Nissenbaum (Allentown/Sagemont, FL) won by the same score.
In singles, Colfer posted a 6-0, 6-0 win at five, while at the fourth slot, Wyckoff got a 6-0, 6-1 win. Torie Cunningham (Greenlawn, NY/Harborfields) won 6-2, 6-2 at third singles, while at sixth, Nissenbaum got a 6-1, 6-4 win. At second singles, Murphy took her opponent to two tiebreakers, falling 7-6 (4), 7-6 (2).
Highlighting the men's match was Dan Gal (South Park/South Park) who took his opponent to three sets, winning the first 6-3 before dropping the second, 7-5. In the third-set replacing tiebreaker, Gal fell, 10-3.
The Huskies will host PSAC East-rival Millersville on Monday at 3 p.m.
